Thatchers Cider

Thatchers Cider has been made at Myrtle Farm in Sandford, Somerset since 1904, when William Thatcher began growing apples and making cider — originally to share with his farm workers. His son Stanley expanded the business, selling draught cider to pubs across Somerset and refining the family's approach to blending.

Now in its fifth generation, the Thatcher family still runs the company from the same 550-acre farm in the Mendip Hills, drawing on more than 120 years of cider-making experience with the local soil, climate and apple varieties. Thatchers remains family-owned, employing around 200 people, and is one of the best-known independent cider makers in the West of England.
